Coloxyl 50mg is a stimulant free stool softener for the gentle relief of constipation. Stool softeners work by drawing water into the stools, making them softer and easier to pass. It can take up to 3 days to provide relief from constipation.

How to use this product:

Adults and children over 12 years of age. Take two or three tablets twice daily.

Allergen information

Free from lactose and preservatives. Contains benzoates and gluten.

Warnings

Not recommended for use in children under 12 years. Drink plenty of water. Increase fibre in your diet except in cases of medication-induced constipation. Do not take with other medicines or liquid paraffin, unless advised by a doctor. If symptoms persist, seek advice from a health care practitioner. Prolonged use is not recommended and may lead to dependence.

How long does it take Coloxyl 50mg to work?

Most people find that it takes from 1-3 days for Coloxyl 50mg to provide relief from constipation. It’s designed to work gradually, softening your stools to make them easier to pass.

If you don’t have the desired relief after 3 days, you can keep taking Coloxyl 50mg to see if it gives some improvement. However, if you’re still constipated after 7 days or longer, you may want to have a chat with your GP.

How long can I keep using Coloxyl 50mg?

It can take up to 3 days for Coloxyl 50mg to provide relief from constipation. If you do not have relief after 3 days, you can keep taking Coloxyl 50mg. But if you still have
constipation after 7 days, you should see your GP.
